The Spark: From the Steppes to the Savannah

My path to photography didn't start in a classroom; it started in the red dust of Africa and the vast, silent horizons of Mongolia. Traveling through Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe, and later working in Uganda, changed me.

I remember the light—that specific, golden honesty of the African sun. I was obsessed with capturing every detail. Back then, the quality wasn't what it is today, but the intent was the same: I wanted to be a witness to the world.

Mastery of the Elements: My Studio has no Ceiling

After graduating in Applied Photography & Image Communication in 2022, I realized that my true expertise lies in the unpredictable. Many photographers wait for the "perfect" sunny day. I don’t.

To me, the outdoors isn't a backdrop; it’s a living, breathing participant in the story. My expertise is rooted in a deep understanding of the seasons and the shifting moods of the weather:

• The Harsh & The Cold: I know how to use the blue, biting light of a winter morning to create a sense of resilience for outdoor brands.

• The Mist & The Rain: While others pack their gear, I reach for my 50mm 1.4. The compression and the shallow depth of field allow me to capture the intimacy of a rainy forest, where every droplet on a leaf tells a story of growth.

• The Golden & The Gritty: Whether it’s the high-contrast heat of midday or the soft, fading light of a hunt at dusk, I know how to technicaly balance my camera to keep the textures of leather, wool, and nature real and raw.

I’ve learned to read the clouds as much as I read my histogram. This "field-tested" knowledge ensures that whether we are shooting in the Highlands or the Dutch heather, the weather will never be an obstacle—it will be our greatest asset.

The Craft: The 50mm Perspective

I’ve traded the wide-angle distractions for the honest perspective of the 50mm lens. It forces me to be patient. It forces me to get closer to the grit. As a "half-forester" and outdoor photographer, I build visual archives that feel like field notes: authentic, used, and timeless. No artificial lights, no staged perfection—just the raw friction between man and nature.

Life Outside the Frame

When I’m not documenting a hunt or a brand story, you’ll find me training with Weasel, my loyal gundog. Weasel is my constant companion on the trail—from the quiet woods of Salland to the rugged peaks of Austria and Germany. Our next big mission? Scotland. I’m dreaming of those long, misty hauls through the Highlands, capturing the kind of landscapes that make you feel small in the best way possible.
